Become certified to carry a Mini-Baton & Tactical Flashlight!
The mini-baton (also known as a "pocket stick" or "yawara") is a highly effective self-defense tool that is inexpensive, easy to learn, and legal to carry*. During this hands-on course, you will learn how a simple stick can be utilized to deter and/or control an attacker. Once you learn how properly use a mini-baton/flaslight, you will never want to be without one again!
The same techniques performed with the Mini-Baton can also be applied using a mini (tactical) flashlight. With the advent of LED flashlight technology, these lights emit a very bright beam and, some even include a strobe feature, both of which can be used to disorient an attacker.
Course topics include:
- Maintaining a state of awareness
- Learning from the mistakes crime victims
- Knowing how to stay safe
- Using your voice in self-protection
- Learning the history of the mini-baton
- Reviewing the parts of the mini-baton
- Applying the mini-baton to anatomical targets
- Gripping the mini-baton
- Utilizing body mechanics for maximum effect
- Performing mini-baton self-defense techniques
- Using light to disorient an attacker

Class size is limited and pre-registration is required!
Instructor: Jim Floyd, M.Ed., is a certified instructor in numerous areas of personal protection, including defensive tactics, edged weapons, expandable baton, and firearms. He holds advanced black belt ranking in Shigaisen Ryu Budo and is a certified full instructor in Jeet Kune Do and Kali-Silat.
Cost: $60.00 per person (includes student manual, certification card, and a mini-baton that is yours to keep)

Refund Policy Cancellations made more than 14 days prior to a scheduled course start date will provide the student/agency
with a 100% refund. Any cancellation within 14 to 1 days prior to a
scheduled course start date will
result in a 50% refund. No refunds are issued for students failing to
show up at a course, or leaving once a course commences. We understand that emergency circumstances do arise, in which case the
tuition(s) may be transferred to another course, at DPG's discretion, if proper notification
is made. In some circumstances, verification of the cancellation may
be required. In the unforeseen circumstance that DPG must cancel a
course, paid registrants will be given the option of a full and
immediate refund or a transfer of their paid registration fees to be
applied to any other DPG courses(s).
* some locations, such as courthouses and commercial aircraft do prohibit the carrying of a mini-baton.
